Dear Parents,

Our year is well underway and we have many opportunities for volunteering and supporting our classrooms.  Our room volunteer coordinator would like to compile a list of parents interested in volunteering for field trips and in-class experiences, as well as providing treats for class celebrations or helping at home (i.e. preparing materials for an art project).

Room 8's coordinator is Bobbi Keith-Rennie.  If you are interested in helping in any way this year, please email her at bobbikeith01@gmail.com .

We have been studying for a Science test during class time. We are learning what it means to study and what works best for each person. What We Learned: Uranus is the furthest planet from the sun in our solar system. Pluto is a dwarf planet. Earth spins (rotates) around its axis. Mercury is the hottest planet. There is a star called "Beetle Juice". The Earth revolves around the sun. The North Star is about 400 light years away. The sun's highest point in the sky, every day, may not be exactly at noon (12:00). The sun rises in the East and then moves to the West, setting in the West. The Big Dipper and the Little Dipper are actually parts of constellations called Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. Ursa means bear, major means big and minor means small. Students are reminded to come tomorrow dressed in a special outfit. There is no need to buy anything new. Today, we brainstormed clothing options (e.g. collared shirt, solid coloured pants, dress, skirt, sweater, a top that doesn't have bold logos, etc.) 9:30 am – Winter Celebration AM performance 10:30 am – AFS Holiday Craft & Bake Sale/Ugly Sweater Edition 1:30 pm – Winter Celebration PM Performance 2:30 pm – AFS Holiday Craft & Bake Sale/Ugly Sweater Edition There is no 'Tasty Tuesday' on December 10th.
