At the end of Friday, we gave each other written compliments. Each student wrote a “warm fuzzy” to each of his/her peers. At the end, everyone had their own page of compliments!
We have been studying for a Science test during class time. We are learning what it means to study and what works best for each person. Suggestions from our class meeting: use the provided list of vocabulary and concepts, look up the information and then write it in your own words (printing information down helps you remember) writing down the information more than once and then saying it aloud (talking about it with a partner or saying it aloud by yourself will help) repeat the information in different ways zoom in to the vocabulary and concepts you don't know or can't remember and have this as your priority- quiz yourself on it (read or say the word and then think of the definition or vice versa) highlight just the important words and then scan what you've highlighted and quiz yourself on that (look at it, remember it, look away, say it aloud/write it down, check) remove yourself from distractions if you need to move your body and study, do it- some people will pa...
Students are reminded to come tomorrow dressed in a special outfit. There is no need to buy anything new. INFORMATION FOR GRADE SIX FAMILIES Bishop Pinkham 1) The Bishop Pinkham presentation at Alexander Ferguson will be on Wednesday, January 8th. The grade six students will attend this presentation before morning recess. 2) The Bishop Pinkham Open House (for students and their families) is on January 16th, starting at 6pm. Vincent Massey A couple dates have been confirmed for Vincent Massey (exact times are still being worked out): 1) The Vincent Massey Tour Day is set for Wednesday, February 5 th in the afternoon. Parents will be responsible for organizing their child's transportation and participation of this event. 2) The Vincent Massey Open House (for students and their families) is set for Thursday, February 6th. 3) The Vincent Massey presentation at Alexander Ferguson for the grade six students will be after the Open House.
